The workshop will walk you through the step by step process of creating a project, finding a venue, creating a budget, publicity and production as well as money saving tips and the best way to utilize all the HFF has to offer.. This workshop is valuable for any independent theatre producer. In addition, each participant will get an E-File including an adjustable budget and timeline.

Social Media Tips and Tricks for Creatives: From
Beefing it Up to Navigating Algorithms
This workshop is specifically for anyone who is promoting a theater production, venue, film, documentary or short, writing, or is looking to self-promote in general on social media.
In this 45 minute workshop and presentation, writer Monique A. LeBleu will share tools on how to beef up your social media presence--or start one, find your target audience, make the best use of online event calendars, create a timeline for promoting your project, and learn to use social media algorithms to your best advantage.

Monique A. LeBleu is a freelance writer, photographer, videographer, shameless foodie and wineaux. Her love of film history and a background in film production, post-production and film theory give her unique insights into her movie reviews, and a brief background in technical theater fuels her passion on all-things theater and film. As copy editor and writer for The Los Angeles Beat, her feature stories and reviews cover all-Things-Los Angeles. As columnist and podcaster for Better Lemons, she provides a weekly round-up registered theater and film festival events and interviews movers and shakers in L.A.'s ever-growing theater community on her podcast. As a foodie, the diverse culinary landscape that is the City of Los Angeles feeds her never-ending pursuit of the perfect comfort food and wine pairing. Use hashtags, tagging, and other tools that aren't just exclusive to social media

Matt Ritchey is a director, writer, actor, and acting coach. He holds a BFA in Acting from NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts, a Certificate in Shakespeare from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and is a recent graduate and Associate Producer at Director’s Lab West. Recent directing credits include the new drama American Conspiracy (Winner of the “Encore Producer’s Award” at Hollywood Fringe Festival 2018, “Best Director” nomination by TheTVolution), Angel’s Flight (winner of “Best Cabaret/Variety” at Hollywood Fringe Festival, “Best Director” nomination by Rogue Shakespeare Company), and Martha Washington Killed a Redcoat (nominated for “Best Comedy” and “Short and Sweet” Awards). As a film director, his short Poker Night won “Best Comedy Short” at the Culver City Film Festival and was nominated for Connect Film Festival’s ’Apollo Award’ for “a compelling exploration of masculinity” in filmmaking.
