SYNOPSIS
In 1977, a fading Alfred Hitchcock meets Mel Brooks to discuss the script for High Anxiety. Over three lunches, Hitchcock shows he can still tap into his own fears while getting in Mel's head, too. After all, you can't make a movie about phobias without facing your own.
Loosely based on real meetings between two Hollywood legends, Pure Cinema explores their search for accountability, forgiveness, and tolerable hard boiled eggs. It’s a historical comedy laced with drama about toxic masculinity and the delights (and dangers) of satire.
